Bluebird Chalk Paint is specially formulated for furniture and decorative use, eliminating the need for sanding or priming before application. It adheres well to wood, concrete, and various other surfaces, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor projects.

Important: Always apply Bluebird Polyurethane Clear Coat Matt 48–72 hours after the final coat of chalk paint to seal and protect the finish. Furniture can be used regularly 48 hours after the clear coat is applied.

Application Instructions

• Preparation: No sanding or priming required

• Recommended Coats:

  • 2–3 coats on light-colored surfaces

  • 3–4 coats on dark or polished surfaces

• Tools:

  • Special chalk paint brushes are available, but any quality all-purpose brush works well

  • Rollers can also be used for larger surfaces

• Dilution: Optional — up to 10–15% with water

• Drying Time:

  • Touch dry in 1–3 hours depending on climate

  • Apply the next coat once the previous one is dry to the touch

• Curing Time: 24 hours for paint to fully cure

• Technique:

  • Apply the second coat in the opposite direction of the first

  • Light sanding between coats is recommended for a smoother finish

• Sealing:

  • Apply Bluebird Polyurethane Clear Coat Matt 48–72 hours after final coat

  • This step is essential for durability and protection

• Regular Use: Furniture can be brought into regular use 48 hours after applying the clear coat

• Shelf Life:

  • Best used within 1 year of purchase

  • Paint longevity depends on storage conditions after purchase

• After Opening:

  • Seal the container tightly after use

  • For best results, use within 2 days of opening
